2mm Aluminium Fascia – 90° External Corner | Type 4
2mm Aluminium Fascia – 90° External Corner | Type 4
Where a roofline projects outward on a building using the Type 4 fascia system, the external corner needs to carry all four bends around the 90 degree angle: the top return, the flat face, and the reverse L-return at the bottom. This is the most complex corner piece in the entire fascia range. Forming a four bend reverse L-return around an outside angle on site is not feasible. The tolerances are too tight, the bends too numerous, and the powder coat finish would be destroyed in the process.
A factory formed Type 4 external corner arrives powder coated, precisely angled to 90 degrees, with all four bends formed to match the parent fascia lengths. The soffit engagement continues cleanly around the outside angle, and the reverse L-return maintains its full enclosure at the most visible point on the roofline. On buildings across Chelmsford, Brentwood, Colchester and the wider South East, this is the fitting that gives every outward corner a factory finished result.
Product Overview
The 2mm aluminium fascia 90° external corner from Online Metal Store Ltd is a factory formed corner piece for the Type 4 fascia profile. It connects two Type 4 fascia 2.5m lengths at an outward facing 90 degree angle, maintaining the four bend reverse L-return profile around the corner. Available in the same 14 depth options (150mm to 800mm), custom fabricated at our Chelmsford, Essex workshop and powder coated in any RAL colour.
The depth must match the fascia boards it connects. For inward facing corners, see the Type 4 internal corner in the fascia and soffits collection. If your roofline uses a simpler profile, see the Type 1 external corner, Type 2 external corner, or Type 3 external corner.
Key Benefits
Carries All Four Bends Around the Outside Angle
The factory formed corner maintains the top return, flat face, and reverse L-return around the full 90 degree external angle. The soffit remains fully locked into the reverse return around the most visible point on the roofline.
Factory Formed for a Precise Outward Angle
External corners are the most prominent detail on any roofline. A four bend reverse L-return cannot be formed on site, making the factory piece essential rather than optional.
14 Depth Options
Available in every depth from 150mm to 800mm, matching the full Type 4 fascia range.
Powder Coated in Any RAL Colour
Every corner is colour matched before dispatch. Ordering all fittings together keeps the colour batch consistent.
UK Manufactured with Fast Turnaround

How to Fit a Type 4 Fascia External Corner
Fix the external corner to the building at the outward corner point, securing it to the rafter tails or fascia backing timber with corrosion resistant screws. Butt the Type 4 fascia 2.5m lengths up against each side of the corner, leaving a 3mm expansion gap at each joint. Cover the joints with colour matched joint covers bonded with low modulus silicone sealant.
Apply a bead of colour coded sealant behind the corner and along the joint lines. Once the fascia and corner are in place, engage the soffit board with the reverse L-return of the corner to complete the enclosed eaves box around the external angle. Use colour coded fasteners for all visible fixings.
Where Type 4 Fascia External Corners Are Used
Bay Windows and Projecting Features
Bay windows, projecting porches and cantilevered sections create external corners. On buildings using the Type 4 reverse L-return fascia, the factory formed corner maintains the full four bend profile at every outward projection.
Commercial Facades and Premium Domestic
On commercial units, office blocks and premium domestic properties across Chelmsford, Brentwood, Basildon and the South East, external corners are the most visible fascia detail. The Type 4 corner gives the strongest enclosure at the most prominent point.
Exposed and Coastal Locations
On buildings in exposed positions where wind loading is a design consideration, the reverse L-return keeps the soffit locked in around the external angle where wind uplift is greatest.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Type 4 fascia external corner?
A factory formed 90 degree external corner for the Type 4 aluminium fascia profile. It carries all four bends (including the reverse L-return) around the outside angle. Compare with the Type 1 external corner (single bend), Type 2 (two bend), and Type 3 (three bend U-return).
Do I need an external or internal fascia corner?
External corners are for outward facing angles where the building projects towards you. Internal corners are for inward facing angles where the building recesses. If it points towards you, it is external.
What size Type 4 external corner do I need?
The corner depth must match the fascia boards. Available in the same 14 sizes (150mm to 800mm).
How do you fit a Type 4 fascia external corner?
Fix to rafter tails at the corner point. Butt 2.5m fascia lengths against each side with a 3mm gap. Bond joint covers over the joints. Seal with colour coded sealant. Engage the soffit with the reverse L-return of the corner.
Can the Type 4 external corner be colour matched?
Yes. Powder coated in any RAL colour. Order in the same RAL code as your Type 4 fascia lengths and other fittings.
